HARA is based in Huntsville, Alabama, the home of America's earliest ventures into space.  Founded in 1979 as a section of the National Association of Rocketry (NAR), HARA is also a Tripoli prefecture, maintaining an active launch schedule coupled with an ongoing commitment to rocketry's educational applications.

HARA's Mission Statement: "Encouraging students in the pursuit of science-oriented careers through hands-on rocketry experience, while promoting high power rocketry for all age levels through community involvement."
