HARA TARC REGIONAL EVENT - EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO FLY!

The purpose of this regional contest is to encourage local schools to fully participate in TARC and complete the program by making a qualified flight. It is also to recognize the work and accomplishment of local teams by the community.

Awards and placing in the HARA regional do not apply to national standings, advancements or invitations to the finals. The flight scores themselves do count for national qualification and will be submitted to the TARC office as given by the process in the TARC rules.

RULES

1) All flights must be made in accordance with the NAR safety code and TARC rules.

2) The Range Safety Officer may opt not to allow the flight of any rocket he or she feels is unsafe. This decision is final.

3) A flight is not considered a qualification flight unless the NAR timer is notified by the team that it is such. All other flights are considered "practice." A team may practice during the event if they desire and a warm-up flight may be a good idea.

4) To be eligible for prizes, qualification flights must be made at Bragg Farms during the event (March 19, 2011, 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM). Qualification flights for TARC may of course be made at other times and locations, but they will not be considered part of this local competition. Prize will be awarded by the officials at 1 pm.

5) Only qualification flight scores will be used to determine the winner and places of the local competition. In the event of tie scores, the best time will be chosen.

OPERATIONS

Teams shall provide their own launch pad, firing system, eggs, motors, supplies and tools. Teams can set up their pads in ‘lanes’ so that launch operations will be overseen by HARA officials from a central range control point. When a team is ready to launch they will alert the HARA officer who will clear them to launch. The score will be qualified according to the TARC rules, recorded and ranked.

AWARDS

Plaques and other prizes will be awarded to the top teams that get a flight qualified. Recognition and the contest results will be given on the HARA website.

DO NOT ask or attempt to launch at Bragg Farms until launch day (March 17). Use the field at McDonnell Elementary School or go elsewhere for practices before launch day.
